Provenance and Comments: | Tausch 9. Sent by Rochlitz to Goering from Paris to Baden-Baden in June 1944 and from there it was lost. [Rochlitz report, p.11]. On May 5 , 1941 the art dealer Gustav Rochlitz exchanged three ‘degenerate’ paintings by Matisse and Renoir for a painting of the School of Fontainebleau. The Matisse and one of the Renoirs belonged to Alfred Lindenbaum. There is no record as to whom the other Renoir belonged to. |
