Provenance and Comments: | Tausch 15. Sent by Rochlitz to Buching/Hohenschwangau in April 1945 and from there it was plundered. [Rochlitz Report, p.11]. On May 5 , 1941 the art dealer Gustav Rochlitz exchanged three ‘degenerate’ paintings by Matisse and Renoir for a painting of the School of Fontainebleau. The Matisse and one of the Renoirs belonged to Alfred Lindenbaum. There is no record as to whom the other Renoir belonged to. |
