The first wave was supervised by Mr. Angerer, one of Goering's main art agents in occupied territories, and a group of French police officials. The second wave was overseen by the ERR beginning in late 1940 and extending into 1942. |

Provenance and Comments: | According to the MCCP cards for these two marble lions, Bacri's name does not show up, instead, reference is made to Gouvert, a Parisian art dealer. According to a letter dated July 24, 1950, from Rose Valland to Colonel Brizard, chief of Investigations in the French Zone of Occupation of Germany, those two lions did not belong to Bacri but instead to the Camoens collection. They were located in the Soviet zone of occupation. |
