| Provenance and Comments: | According to the MCCP cards for these two marble lions, Bacri's name does not show up, instead, reference is made to Gouvert, a Parisian art dealer. According to a letter dated July 24, 1950, from Rose Valland to Colonel Brizard, chief of Investigations in the French Zone of Occupation of Germany, those two lions did not belong to Bacri but instead to the Camoens collection. They were located in the Soviet zone of occupation. |
