Collection: (HAL) Halphen--The HAL collection is actually a misnomer since it combines assets belonging to two branches of the Halphen family and spouses, commingled by ERR staff members responsible for carding and producing inventories as a single Halphen collection. All objects plundered under HAL were removed from three locations in Paris which belonged to Emile Halphen and Fernand Halphen between July 1940 and February 1941.

Title: Ein Paar Sessel.
Description: Geschnitztes vergoldetes Holzgestell, vier geschweifte Beine, geschweifte, konturierte Zarge mit eingekerbtem Rautenmuster, einer Palmette in der Mitte und Rocaillen-Medaillons an den Ecken. Geschweifte Rücklehne und Armstützen mit entsprechenden Ornamentierung.
Gobelinbezug auf Rücklehne und Sitzfläche: blumengefüllte Vase. Mit Messingknöpfen befestigt.

Provenance and Comments: This item [A 11] was in a crate [E 69] supplied by the Schenker company and stored at the German Embassy in Paris in the summer of 1940. According to Rose Valland's crate inventory, A 19 was not in crate E 69.
