Madame Emile Halphen is Marquise Alice de Bremond d’Ars who resided at 18, Avenue Henri Martin, Paris. The ERR stole the Halphen collection thinking it all belonged to Emile and Fernand. But Emile was long since dead; Alice was his daughter and owned the building on Henri-Martin. It is likely that all items marked HAL and R at the Henri Martin address may have all belonged to Bremond d’Ars. |
