(HAL) Halphen--The HAL collection is actually a misnomer since it combines assets belonging to two branches of the Halphen family and spouses, commingled by ERR staff members responsible for carding and producing inventories as a single Halphen collection. All objects plundered under HAL were removed from three locations in Paris which belonged to Emile Halphen and Fernand Halphen between July 1940 and February 1941. |

Geschnitztes braungebeiztes Holzgestell. Geschwungene Beine, geschweifte konturierte Zarge mit Palmetten in der Mitte und an den Ecken und eingekerbten Rauten und Rahken in den dazwischen befindlichen Feldern. Geschweifte Rücklehne.
Das Sofa auf 8 Beinen, mit Packen.
Gobelinbezug, in Medaillonsauf Rücklehne und Sitzfläche Szenen aus den Fabeln La Fontaines, von Blumensträußen umgeben. Rücklehne ganz bespannt, mit Messingknöpfen befestigt.

These items [A 3, A 5] were in a crate [E 67] and items A 1, A 2, A 4, and A 6 were in crate E 68 supplied by the Schenker company and stored at the German Embassy in Paris in the summer of 1940. The sofa was found in its crate at Neuschwanstein and was repatriated to France. |
