According to ERR documents, the NSKK came to Mrs. Kleinberg's residence and removed items. According to postwar Belgian restitution sources, Oberstleutnant Hirt of the Gestapo occupied the building where Mrs. Kleinberg lived and attested at his interrogation that nothing had been removed before late January 1942, date of his departure from Brussels. However, notations pertaining to specific objects looted from Mrs. Kleinberg's residence contradict Hirt's testimony whereby those objects were removed while he occupied Mrs. Kleinberg's residence. |
