Provenance and Comments: | Flavian's Daumier was scheduled to be placed on the 1 August 1944 train to Nikolsburg. Something happened which caused this work not to be returned to Mr. Flavian. Either it did not make it on the train or it was stolen from the train before the Resistance caught up with it. Flavian's claim was denied by the French government on 20 July 1960. |
