Provenance and Comments: | Tausch 11. Tausch 12. Sent by Rochlitz for Goering to Klein, Paris, to J. Rosner, Paris, and to Dr. Wendland. On December 3 , 1941 the art dealer Gustav Rochlitz exchanged four ‘degenerate’ paintings by Matisse for a painting by Jan Brueghel I, titled “The Port of Antwerp”. All four Matisse paintings belonged to Paul Rosenberg. This painting is identical to PR 24 |
