Provenance and Comments: | In Rose Valland's inventory, the crate GM 4 contains '1 table acajou, 1 paquet de gravures, 1 table noyer, 1 statuette bois.' The two tables were restituted on 12 September 1947. This crate was packed at the Louvre for SS Colonel von Behr. chief of the Dienststelle Westen. From this crate, MGM recovered the following items: "petite table rustique Regence", "coiffeuse acajou Empire," and "bronzes dores." You will note that the bronzes are not listed in the original German inventory of this crate. |
