| Provenance and Comments: | This work was part of a group placed in safety with the Louvre on 19 October 1939. It was subsequently confiscated as "non-Aryan" on 7 July 1941. This object was inventoried by Dr. Tomforde on 24 July 1942 and labeled as "vernichtet." A note at the end of the general inventory of the Reichenbach indicates that Reichenbach 1-24 were scheduled to be shipped to the ERR depot of Nikolsburg on 15 November 1943. One must surmise that this shipment did not include the works slated for destruction or at least there is no indication that this object was in fact shipped to Nikolsburg. | ||||
