| Provenance and Comments: | This painting was removed from the Galerie Guy Stein, 2, rue de la Boetie, in June 1940, where Mr. Porges had left it for safety. French police reports indicate that the gallery was inspected on 7 July 1940 where inspectors found paintings stacked up in the business office of the gallery. The inspectors noted that the exhibition rooms were empty. |
