Provenance and Comments: This painting might have been confiscated on orders from the German Embassy in Paris and stored at its address on 80, rue de Lille. Considered for possible exchange. This painting once belonged to Stephan Osusky, former Czech Ambassador to France before WWII. It was stored with many other paintings owned by Osusky and his wife at the home of James-Armand de Rothschild before the German invasion of France. It was slated for transport to Nikolsburg on 1 August 1944. But the train never left Paris.
