| Provenance and Comments: | This item went from the German Embassy to the Jeu de Paume in mid-December 1940. We are attributing this painting to Hans Furstenberg (F) because some of this objects were commingled with those of Maurice de Rothschild in the mid-December 1940 transfer of looted items from the German Embassy to the Jeu de Paume. F is also the signature for the Furstenberg collection which was stolen in November 1940. However, there is a remote possibility that this is a Rothschild item. |
