| Provenance and Comments: | Tausch 13. Sent from Paris to Baden-Baden in June 1944. [Rochlitz Report, p.11]. On February 9, 1942 the art dealer Gustav Rochlitz exchanged seven ‘degenerate’ paintings by Matisse, Braque, Chirico and Leger with a painting from a Master from Frankfurt, titled: 'The Adoration of the Magi’. The paintings belonged to Georges Bernheim, Paul Rosenberg and Alphonse Kann. Although this painting appears on a French government list of works of art not restituted as of 9 December 1952. indications are that it was in fact restituted to the heirs of Alphonse Kann. | ||||
