| Provenance and Comments: | Returned to M.A. for sale. Slated for transport to Nikolsburg on 1 August 1944. However, the train never left Paris. Although slated for restitution to Alphonse Kann in 1947, the OBIP attributed the work to the Museum of Modern Art in Paris (MNAM) in 1949, despite the fact that the markings clearly indicated its pedigree as belonging to Kann (Ka). It was not until a bitter battle between the Kann heirs and the French government that it was restituted in July 1997.
