This painting was part of a group placed in safety with the Louvre on 19 October 1939. It was subsequently confiscated as "non-Aryan" on 7 July 1941. The ERR did not inventory or card it. This work by Derain shows up on only one of many versions of the inventory of works deposited by Reichenbach with the Louvre in 1939, which Reichenbach submitted to postwar French restitution authorities. |
