| Provenance and Comments: | These items (a quiver and spearheads) might belong to Mr. Bloch-May/Blochmay whose extensive collection of artifacts and art objects from numerous countries of Africa was removed from his home on orders of the ERR on 13 March 1944. The MAY collection was most likely carded at the Jeu de Paume in the second half of March 1944. A careful comparison between the incomplete inventory of Mr. Blochmay’s collection and items entering the Jeu de Paume in March 1944 confirm that there is a high degree of correlation between that inventory and a number of objects catalogued as MA-EX which also entered the Jeu de Paume in March 1944. | ||||
